Default H2 on boat ramp question

Hello every1 ... This is probably a stupid question .
I've used the H2 to launched the waverunner (900pounds) a few times but just today noticed that the truck moves freely backward on Drive position while on the ramp whit the trailer and the PWC ... Till give a little gas

In other words : On drive if I let the brake go and not accelerate the truck goes backward ..

Is this normal /... Remember the truck was parked on a boat ramp with a trailer and a PWC

Thank you all

You have all that additional weight pulling the 2 backwards. The weight is overcoming the forward power of the engine idle. I would imagine on a steep enough hill even without a trailer it could still be pulled backwards?

I roll forward while in reverse with the incline on my drive way every single morning. I had a buddy that was sitting on a steep hill in his Lexus with an auto, when he left off the brake the car rolled backwards and it stalled out the engine. If I understand how an automatic Transmission works, or rather the torque converter This makes perfect sense. The weight of the Truck just overcomes the force of the idling engine. I assume that it does wear a little faster I would not make a habit of it.

That will not help with launching.

The trailer button has to do with how the transmission shifts. It pretty much keeps the truck in a higher RPM to keep from shifting way more often than necessary and torching the tyranny. It is trying to replicate the normal shifting feeling and pattern while under the added load of a trailer. I doubt you would notice any difference while launching with or without the Tow/Haul mode engaged.

I just tow in 3rd gear. the tow/haul button on mine works sporadically. sometimes it will shift into fourth while the light is on.
