Default Rim size

[QUOTE=h2offroad;322523]Over the almost 2 years Ive owned my h2, I've read probably every thread on every forum about hummer h2s.

99% of my research told me that 40s require a minimum of 6 inches of suspension lift.

I'm making this thread because I am successfully running and offroading 39.5" iroks on my hummer h2.
related mods include: 3" body lift, 2" wheel spacers.
that's it. Stock gearing, stock rims.

The v8 has plenty of power to turn these monsters and the transmission handles it perfectly. I do kinda baby it on the road, but offroad I beat the hell out of it. i have had 0 problems so far with tie rods an

whats is the rim size you're using for those Irocs?

Those are limited edition factory wheels iirc 17”

As an aside I remember when this was first posted, I hope OP eventually got 5.13 gears, he had to be running 900RPM at 60 in 4th with that setup, might as well be a 3 speed transmission because 4th was probably out of the question 90% of the time.

My truck struggles with 36”s with the 4.10s.

Good luck with this, I bought my H2 with 40's and 2 inch wheel spacers. It only had 41k miles on vehicle and the wheel bearings where destroyed. It has a 6 inch lift, but I went back to 38's and set of rims that I wouldnt require spacers. Most seem to like it considerably better. Ill try to attach pics later

38" is perfect balance for the H2 with 4.88 gears, here is mine.

Default Cant fit 40's

So, I tried to put 40x15.5's on my 03 H2 with a 2" body lift and it is not even close. There is a pretty large offset as well, as the 40's came off an H1. Now, I am looking for a good deal on a 6" lift kit. The kits are way more expensive for the H2's than the 25 or 3500 kits.

Default 3" Body lift on H2 Hummer

Was a steering extension needed and anything else like brake line extensions to install the 3" body lift?

Those that say it's not possible are incorrect.
I would love to post pictures but my phone tells me my pictures are too large.
