H2 on 40s without suspension lift
Over the almost 2 years Ive owned my h2, I've read probably every thread on every forum about hummer h2s.
99% of my research told me that 40s require a minimum of 6 inches of suspension lift. I'm making this thread because I am successfully running and offroading 39.5" iroks on my hummer h2. related mods include: 3" body lift, 2" wheel spacers. that's it. Stock gearing, stock rims. The v8 has plenty of power to turn these monsters and the transmission handles it perfectly. I do kinda baby it on the road, but offroad I beat the hell out of it. i have had 0 problems so far with tie rods and cvs. Those that say it's not possible are incorrect. I would love to post pictures but my phone tells me my pictures are too large. |
I stored pictures on photobucket then i just copy and paste the image url here.
Can't wait to see the pics of your H2 on 40's. |
I am subbing in too
I want big ole tires on my truck and I would like to see the look and I would also like to know the tire size Currently I am about to buy 38 x 1550 x 18 on a 18x10 -24mm offset (and if it rubs I bought 1/2 spacers) If 40s work.... I think I am going that way Especially since I am also installing a 3 inch lift (keys and spacers) |
I'm in the process of dumping photos onto photobucket.
I chose to avoid a leveling kit + keys because they chang your cv angles. 40s are going to be slightly harder for the cvs to spin, so unless it's a mall crawler, you are going to want flat cv's. |
