Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

That would probably work fine and would not need much at all if it is a good strong bit of thin wire. If anything I'd probably try that and then find the broken off bits of plastic, and get at it with a soldering iron, on a lower temp, and melt those bits back in place and add some more bits of scrap plastic on top and over the added small bit of wire. Since it is not visible it does not have to be pretty, just functional and secure. I've added additional plastic to repairs this way by melting a bit more plastic from a zip tie or something else in the past many times. The key is lower temperatures with an iron, a larger iron cranked way up will melt it fast but also tens to just burn through plastic and makes it harder to control what you are doing.

Using wire is a possibility, which I have given some thought to. As it happens the arm is pretty secure with jonly the 2 existing lugs, so I'm considering going with that.

Rock have been good so far, I managed to ask them about shipping with better packing and they are looking into it.

I've also asked Delphi if they could ship out a spare sender or plastic part, so I'm waiting for an answer on that.

You guys don't know how lucky you are over the other side of the pond
I can agree with securing the float arm posted above, but why go through that? Get the module in the new condition that you ordered, so you don't have to worry about dropping the tank again when the gauge shows empty. Btw, I have recently sent an email to RA tagging this forum! In the meantime, spray the tank strap bolts, and wait until you get a good module before you run it out of gas to drop the tank.

Thanks for you help with RA, much appreciated

I agree entirely with your sentiments, however I'm going to hand on untill next week and see if Delphi can ship some bits, fitting those I am comfortable with.

BTW the bolts have been sprayed already, so at least they'll have a good soak by the time I get the pump sorted.

spray all the line fittings and connectors you can as well as they can probably use a good soak as well to facilitate removal when the time comes.

So back to square one, 3rd pump on its way back to RA, just waiting for the refund. Might bring one back from th US, I'm staying in Yosemite National Park in Nov, it might be safer to hand-carry one back to the UK.

Such a pain!

As the ambient temp is lowering.
Contact RA customer service, and get that pump shipped with the arm separated or use better packaging.
