Default Front wheel speed sensor issue

Replacing my front wheel speed sensors with genuine GM ACDelco.

Old sensor removed and I found these spacers under it. 1.88 mm in thickness total.
The depth to the top of the gear on the tone ring is 17 mm. The new OEM sensor is 18.5mm long.... The total thickness of the shims is 1.88 mm... Which leaves me a gap between the sensor and the reluctor wheel of .38 mm

Anyone thinks that's a little bit too close? Never ran into these shims before.

I should probably add that the sensor I removed was not genuine GM ACDelco. It was .30 mm longer.... So it had a gap of .08 mm. The metal tip of the sensor felt rough with a fingernail, almost looks like it was touching. Or else it's a cheap aftermarket one.

Omg, made in China.... Ordered these through the local dealer with my discount.

The old one had a 1.2 mm air gap between the sensor and the teeth on the reluctor. Similar shims, 1.94 mm... With new sensor that leaves me at .91 air gap.

Most ACDelco parts are made in china!
That's why I refuse to spend all that extra money just for the ACDELCO LOGO!
