That depends on how fast is it leaking. You do not want to get dangerously low on oil.
Typically these leak slowly, but the pool under your vehicle suggests otherwise.

By now you would have ordered new lines. So you will fix it once they arrive. That is your correct timeframe.

Correct, no chance of it popping off. Actually only a small chance.
Just keep an eye on the oil level and don't park anywhere, where you will **** off people by dripping on their clean concrete driveway.

You could do like I did and have your mechanic remove the oil lines and use a block off plate. Unless you tow a lot, they are not needed.

It is called an oil dipstick. Check the oil level with that. The oil in the lines is your motor oil.

Step one, climb under the truck and identify where the leak is coming from. You may need to take the skid plate off, it’s not that difficult. Get a rag and wipe clean. Once you identify the part or parts take a few pictures and share.

I paid around $120 for original oil cooler line, if that’s the issue. It will take some skills and tools to get this job done. It is not an easy job, at least not from my experience. As others pointed out it could also be the steering box or lines.

you can spray some type of degreaser, i like the purple power one for cleaning.

I've researched using a block off plate and can't find any evidence of engine failure in doing so. 117,000 miles on my 07 H2 and starting to see a little weep on my lines by the radiator. I'm going to do the block off plate as well, just wanted to thank you for your input or say "confidence" in my decision to do the same. Daily driver here with no towing or abuse.

I purchased my plate from the local Chevy dealer, you will also need to order the gasket and new bolts.
