BPMV (brake pressure modulator valve)
I just ran straight in to the proverbial brick wall that is a grail part apparently.
While working through replacing my brake lines it has become clear I have an issue with the BPMV and a new one would be nice only for me to discover a new one is never going to happen. Funny I always laughed about the grail interior bits but never gave much consideration to the mechanical bits. I am, guessing this is one of the few mechanical parts that is H2 specific and no longer made by anyone. eBay prices are insane and has me considering options now...
Problem is with new lines installed I have a crazy leak from one of the 6 lines going in. Master Cylinder 1. Thinking the thread or tube seat is bad. Chased the threads to what seem clean, added some permatex hydraulic seal and still have a nasty leak.
The thing that sucks is my ABS side is fine so I dont need that yet it seems every old part only sold with both and my guess is the ABS side is the pricey part.
Not a mechanic by any stretch but I am thinking my only option with the existing one would potentially be re-tap it and change the flare and connection on the line but not sure how doable this is.
Anyone have experience messing with the BPMV and options. Given the prices on eBay I am thinking I'd be better buying a second truck and using the other for spares. I laugh to ease the pain but not far off on this. Crazy.

I haven't had to mess with the BPMV on mine so I have no first hand knowledge of the part.
Can the leak be due to the new line, not sure of what type of fittings are used but normally on brake line its double flare fittings, its not uncommon for the double flare to split during the flaring process.
You may try one of the companies that offer ABS rebuilding, maybe they can offer some insight to what the issue may be.

Being that it wasn't leaking prior to the line change it would almost be a sure bet it is the flare/gland nut of the new line. Is it possible that something got into the socket while lines were disconnected and is keeping the flare from seating properly? Also, did you use new gland nuts or reuse the old ones?
As legerwarn mentioned double flares can be troublesome.

New hardware, lines and nuts. Absolutely possible something is up and not seating properly. Just dam near impossible to check on the truck when re-installing and the idea of pulling off the other five lines and removing it to inspect again and redo the lines makes me cry....
P.S. I am clear I need to do the very thing I am clearly trying to avoid thinking there might be some miracle answer that I know doesn't exist... Fun...
