BCM removal
Hi trying to remove BCM on H2 2004 any suggestions.. the workshop manual say the entire dash and steering column need to be removed .. it like it’s been locked in a vault..would appreciate any info.. thanks
Thank you for replying.. I actually found this tread after I asked the question.. already have everything apart and fixing to attempt removal.. hope that my nightmare will be over.
I have installed BCM trying to relearn system I on third try.. I had problem with dash lights all on then gauges quit working along with radio windows 4 wd speedometer would also go out have had in three shops dealer really screwed me was there for two weeks said not getting reading from BCM. They closed gmc dealer an sent to ford dealer was told need to replace cables that I have done checked the main ground wires just hope this is my problem.. been two months now trying to fix it. Still can not get it to start any suggestions
Do you still have original bcm? I was unsuccessful with trying to program a used bcm. I was able to at least drive mine with an Escalade bcm after I did the security learn. But ultimately I couldn’t get the Escalade bcm to work 100%. I had to repair the original hummer bcm. My post about bcm removal has a bunch of info on what works and doesn’t work. Might help you. Mine acted weird too when I tried to reprogram the used bcm.

My battery is good had it charging all day while working on BCM. I have been looking at all the wires for a bad connection . I found that the theft control modular electric park light to be very hot just have to touch key an battery lights an cluster have power.. is this normal seems that a wire could be shorting. I give up for a day. Thanks for the help. Just want to say one thing about BCM. If you unplug bottom plug first then you unplug the other 5 plugs you push on BCM forward a little it will come from the back a lot easier than the front.
