Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Cost estimate parts and labor $5300.
This seems outrageous to me. Anybody got any advice for me? I love my Hummer. Thx
That's ridiculous. The lines will not be an walk in the park, nor will the ABS module but no way I'd pay that kind of money.

Did he tell you exactly what failed to cause the brakes to go out? If its the master cylinder, that's an easy repair and then you could work on the rest piece by piece.

he says mechanic says more labor intensive because of something about having to pull it off the frame? Is this BS?
holy ****, 5300 to replace break lines and master cylinder? Complete rip off and I would never ever pay that, not even half that. First off, new lines pre bent are around 200 bucks (definitely not 800), master cylinder was like 75. Of course they will mark that up at a shop. I did entire break lines in a day total time, by myslef, including ripping off all old stuff. Is it easy? No, but it can be done. I did mine in my driveway without even lifting the truck up (he said to remove the cab from the frame??? Hahaha). I understand that it's a business but 4000 for labor and charging you 4 times for what it costs for the lines? Go to amazon, you will see.

poll is, go see a few other mechanics or do them yourself
