Default 1994 H1 fuel tank

Hi everyone. Before I ask my question let me start by saying I did search the forum and did not find what I needed. That being said if I missed something please let me know. So I purchased a 1994 civilian H1 that was used for hummer tours. Long story short, the fuel tank was gone when purchased. I have a tank for a 94 that had no components and I am slowly buying everything it needs. I also have a complete tank from a 1996, but was told I would need to change the fuel lines to make it work. Is this true? From what I can tell all the tank is is pick up and return tubes and some breathers. Can anyone verify if I can use the 1996 tank or if I should just continue building the tank from the 1994? Thanks for any help with this.

I think the harness for the tanks are different. Check with Dave at www.hummerpartsguy.com. He can tell you what you need.

Just wanted to update. I used the tank from a 96 h1 in my 94 and after a little air bleeding from the system she fired right up. All I did was extend the soft fuel lines to reach the pick up and return tubes. Plus it made it easier to install the tank.

Cool. Glad you got it worked out...and cheaply.
