I assume this head problem is with the 3.5L engines 2006 and earlier? My wife has an 07' with the 3.7L, 5 Speed and 30K miles and has had no problems at all. even gets about 16.5 MPG

 

The TSB that was put out was for the 2006 H3. According to GM, all of the inline engine family after March 31, 2006 have the new redesigned hardened head components.
However, some 2007 I5s have had head issues. Warranty for the 2007 is 100K miles/5 yrs.

My 07 H3 with 20K miles is at the shop for head replacement. All of these posts make it seem like only the 06's have this problem. The dealer said that they are putting on a new head that will solve the issue. I would have thought that the 07's already had the new head.
