I mounted mine in the center of the tire carrier (no center cap on spare)

No, I can't. I had to take it off to remove the carrier after I was rear ended to have the rear bumper replaced. I have some work to do on the truck that I want to do this summer. I was thinking about getting another hub cover and mounting the camera inside with a quick disconnect for power (it's a wireless transmitter type). The original mount was an angled down mounted to the hub of the mount, I didn't have a hub cover (cap) when I did it. BTW, I built my carrier myself.

I have a back up camera on my h2 directly above the "hitch" but it's not so good as i have the tyre on the back too, and it obscures things a little. It's tough to get a sense of how far you are back from something. I'd definitely look to get it put somehow on the back wheel, either on the original license plate mount, or some other way of connecting it to the rear wheel carrier, and have it more looking down.

just my 2 cents.
