Hello. New member here. So the 3.5L in my 2006 went out. Actually I accidently helped it. So instead of rebuilding the 3.5 I decided to swap it with a 5.3L. I've read some of the threads where other people have swapped to an LS2, LSA, etc, but since I'm in California and they limit what you can do, I decided to get an engine that is as close to the 5.3 they put in the alphas. The donor car is a 2013 Tahoe. According to the pictures I've seen, they are pretty much physically the same (accessories, brackets, etc) but the main difference with the Tahoe engine is 1) It's flex fuel 2) it has AFM as its an LMG code engine. Another issue is the Tahoe had a 6 speed trans.
The Tahoe engine came with everything to do a swap. Even the gas pedal. Not the trans.
The Wiring harness: Would it be easier to keep the 3.5 harness and ecm and have them modified, or modify the Tahoe harness, or buy a harness from an alpha?
