Default RE: XM to Sirius

I want to add my 2 cents.

I went to Bestbuy and bought the XM converter box for $99. I know this is compatible with the 2006 H3 6 disk system. They charge $65 to install the unit professionally. The unit has superior sound. It basically replaces the 2 bands for XM with Sirius and removes all prints of XM completely. They do have to install a new antenna that they installed on the back of the truck coming out above the center tail light. XM and Sirius antennas are not interchangable.

There is no difference from the XM garbage that they give you with the system. The channels identify as the proper sirius channels (i.e. NFL Radio, Howard 100, Backspin, etc...).

I bought the vehicle on a Saturday and had Sirius installed into it on Tuesday. The whole thing took about $165 to do and about 30 minutes for them to install and their work is covered for the length you own the vehicle.

NOW IF THEY ONLY HAVE EQUIPMENT TO INSTALL TO BYPASS THE ONSTAR TO ALLOW ANY BLUETOOTH ENABLED PHONE, I WOULD BE IN HEAVEN.

Anyone try this cable, allows you to use your Xm antenna. If so, how is the reception? Looking at having Sirius installed next Friday, if it does not work well, will have them put in a Sirius antenna.
