Why are my 35's running fine with no mods?
I am running 35 BFG MT's and just came back from a rough 4-wheel drive trail and there was no rubbing, no problems at all running the 35's. No suspension changes, no torsion bar changes. Is this unusual? Vehicle looks great with the wheel wells fully packed with tires. The extra 1" of ground clearance is nice too.
My guess is that you are probably running the factory wheels, which helps. Often, aftermarket wheels will have slightly different back spacing and will cause the rubbing etc. Also, the H3 does not have the flexiest suspension around, so the clearance is probably good enough that the somewhat stiffer suspension isn't letting the tire get into anything. If your suspension was something softer, with more wheel travel it would more than likely let the tire start getting into something as it cycles.
Someone with the same tires and aftermarket wheels might have a different experience on the same trail.
Nothing for you to do but enjoy 'em.

I have only seen one truck with 315/75r16 bfg's on stock rims and he had no rubbing at all but did raise the front ot level it. those tires are 34.6" and even the spare fit on the back of the same size. Steve
