I read the entire thread. I don't want to comment on the rest since I wasn't there, but I do understand what you went through. It's a bit why I'm so paranoid about going off-roading. It's not the truck failing as much as getting bad direction.

You won't have anything to worry about if you go with us, our group has plenty of capable people in it to help everyone get thru the trails WITHOUT any damage to their truck or pride.
We like to go off road but at the end of the day nobody wants their trucks damaged, for the most part these are our daily drivers.
