Here's a pretty educational spacer thread, it's vehicle specific, and ther are a few INS and outs of other cars, but the basic concept is the same.

Check Summit Racing for spacers. I bought a set of TransDapt for my Audi and loved them. They have several generic sizes.

MAKE SURE YOU GET BILLIT NOT CAST ALUMINUM! I was warned by several people, including the in store tech rep at Summit not to use cast spacers on anything because they are not as strong.

Check out the pioneer avic models. I have a f90bt in mine and it kicks ***. Navi, Bluetooth, aux input, USB connect. And the newer models are even better. They are very fairly priced.

I really like the Avic's but i am stiill up in the air on if i want to spend the extra on Navigation. i have an XOG, Garmin Oregon 450 and 2 other portable garmin GPS units. I mainly just want the ability to play my MP3's and a back up camera. it is such a pain in the butt to hook up to my boat by myself.

Spacers are a BAD idea !!!!!
Especially on a Hummer or Corvette type high performance vehicle.
They greatly increase the "moment arm" and geatly increase the stress on the bearings and studs.
Yesterday I saw a pimped out Honda Accord with spacers on the three wheels that were still atttached to the car. The other wheel snapped and was laying under the car. I love it when someone without an Engineering Degree thinks they know more than an Mechanical Engineer.

I have 2'' spacers and it seems to be good for short and trial stages/ways. In the long term view the right half shaft has to be changed every 10000miles and after 30 000 miles the steering is gone. But it is the same effect like backspacing.
