Default What do I have to do to fit 38's on my Hummmy

Hello forum members,

I'm currently running 35x12.5xLT20 on -44 off set rockstars. My tires still have plenty of meat on them (toyo open country m/t) but eventually want to run Toyo 38x13.5xLT20 on my rockstars.

What needs to be done to fit them (I.e lift, gearing)?

Can I use 2.5in readylift fromt with 1in coil spacer in rear?

Thanks

This is what i did....read my signature, it's all there. I did not do the 4.88 re-gear yet, that's my next project. Oh, and you have to trim the front wheel fender liner.

That looks really nice. And they don't even look oversized! Just imagine if you used the stock 34s with your setup...they would look tiny

I saw your build man, looks awesome. Would this work with the offsets of my rockstars? How did you mount your light bar? Brand?

I don't know if that offset will work, you have to try and see. I chose the 0mm offset (wheel centerline at dead center) 'coz it's better for wheel bearings, off-road and overall balance. It still rubs lightly on the frame at full lock. I just drilled 2 holes on the front (curved) side of the crossbar and installed the nut inside. The brand is eyourlife that i bought on ebay, good light output.

The 38's worth the extra trouble or should I just go with 37's in you opinion?

For me it's worth it. I got an awesome deal on the set of 5 plus it look so much better. I used this truck off-road so an inch difference is good to have.

I am getting setup to go the same route here with the typical cognito steering and suspension upgrades and trying to decide between 37 or 38's myself. What did you guys do for tie rods? Looks like cognito came out with new ones, and has anyone tried those bulletproof steering tie rods? The bulletproofs have a interesting angle built into them
