I owned a 1996 H1 and sold it a year ago. Have regretted it since.
I want to purchase another H1 and need some help.
Mine had terrible AC and here in Florida with the heat, lack of insulation, bad AC it was terrible in the summer.
First, is the AC ever enough to cool the cab?
Are there any after markets AC's out there?
Is one year better than the other?
It appears that in 2003 there were some major changes.
Can anyone give me advice, input, pros cons etc and or things I should be looking for prior to purchase.
Also, some say what's left of the parts since they went out of business are being used by or bought up by the military leaving parts scarce and expensive. I this true?

97.5 and up model years had a much improved AC system over the 97 and older.

 

Best year is a 06... It has a duramax engine! it's also the most expensive year...
