I am new here and not yet own a H1. But I always like to own a H1.

I am planning to get one 1997 and have one of the companies such as:
Predator, HLine/Twisted, BigDogOffroad, to do the conversion.

Anyone has the cost for such conversion, what are all needed to do the conversion. I saw somewhere that the H1 must be lifted by a few inches,

Is DuraMax more desirable than Cummins? which of these two is easy to maintain?

Will the H1 be daily drivable after converted? any issue afterward ? etc. Are the aforementioned shops reputable?

You will get different opinions. Typically yes a 2" lift is needed for clearance on the conversions. The Cummins conversions are less expensive, the Duramax conversions are much quieter. I have heard of prices of 25-30K for the Cummins and 40-50K for the Duramax. Never done it myself so don't know current pricing. I have owned two Alphas. Great vehicles and hold their value very well. Conversions tend to not hold the value. If you can try to buy an Alpha. If you are doing a DMax conversion on an older truck remember that you need to upgrade hub gears, half shafts, frame rails, etc to really do it right.
