Can I use the VIN to know what ad-ons and options the truck origially came with from the factory?
If so, where do I find the information on the web?

You can look at the label inside your glove box and get the RPO codes, google---> rpo code lookup and enter your 3 digit codes to find out what you have.

I was hoping the VIN decoder would have a bit more information in it.

All I got is a 5.3 V8 made in USA, tire size and the number out of production line.
I was expecting some more information such as:

rear Diff lock - Y/N
front diff lock - Y/N
Axel size
Type of Stereo system
Sunroof
rear camera
and any other add ons the original owner got it with.

 

I found calling the parts counter at the dealership worked best.
