im NEWB in this great forums and really need ur quick action in this issue
Im searching for the affected VIN #s that might have head/valve issue
cuz i found i great deal on 06 H3 with 47K miles on the clock for less than $ 22K
the manufacture date is 09/05 and the VIN # 5GTDN136268170677

is there a VIN serial number range known for H3s that might have "Head & Vave issues??!!
is the manufacture date mention above on the safe Production or not??!!

Ifthe last 8 digits in yourVIN is less than68287591, there is a higher probability that you may be having this issue. You are in the correct vintage of MFG and Vin# to have the problem. If that 3 was going to have the head/valve issue, it would have likely had it by now. Check with the seller to see if any warranty work was done, if they received the GM letter re: the extended warranty, and then beat them down to $20,500.00.

Not all of the vehicles in the Vin# band and date of mfg have the problem, and the problem was also shared with other engines and that is what they did with the release of the new hardened cylinder heads on engines manufactured after March 31, 2006. Engine manufactured before that date COULD have the cylinder head problem. However, NOT ALL WILL have the problem.
GM issued as a bulletin that is available to anyone who wants it. It does affect other GM vehicles, and in fact affects some Envoy/Trailblazers with the in-line 6 and otherswith the four cylinder.

any way im gonna check the car at GM dealer in my place today and hopefully every thing gonna be OK,, cuz i think this is a real deal, BTW this 3 is sitt'n 22s
