Thanks Tainter. I wouldn't use carb cleaner on a MAF, but over the years I have heard people using all kinds of crazy stuff????

I only use MAF cleaner for that and only T.B. cleaner for T.B. due to the sensors. Try a can of seafoam through the intake with the engine running, I use a hose attached to the closed off valve on the intake, drivers side. If your 07 doesn't have it pull the hose off the brake booster hose, either one will get the job done. Seafoam has been around for years I use it religiously on all my stuff (GTO,H3T,CBR,lawn mower). It will help clear up the gunk, contaminants and carbon that build up, plus when you do it the whole neighborhood will get smoked out, hope this helps?

I would not waste my beer $$ on Seafoam or any other additive you can come up with. Use top trier or brand name high quality fuel every tank and those issue the additives are supposed to cure never come up.

Doc has never had a dirty fuel system/combustion chamber.

I'm pretty sure we've discussed this at length before Doc, and even after being provided with solid data and evidence your doubt is understandable when you've never experienced the results firsthand, but to those that have, posts like yours simply come off as uninformed. Just sayin'.

And try to keep in mind that many higher mileage pre-owned vehicles may have not been run on top-tier fuels, ever. Sometimes dirty systems need cleaning that may be beyond the scope of simply switching to detergent gasolines.

Why do you think the dealer charges $200 for intake/fuel system cleaning?? The seafoam trick works, and for less than $10 bucks you can't go wrong, plus most vehicles have a pcv/hose that runs right back into the intake which gunks up the motors intake and so forth, it has nothing to do with the gas, but I do agree in using good gas!
