For an H2? If so, 2003-2007 or 08/09?
Your garage lists an H1 & H3.

You could always drop in a 4L80. Should last a hell of a lot longer than another 4L65.

will the 4L80 work with the 04 computer and shift characteristics?
I thought I read the only trans that the earlier model h2s could take was the 65

Only the 03 could?
If that's the case, you can possibly reuild your 4L65 or buy an upgraded 4l65.

Go to the internet and source raptor transmissions.. the will provide a tranny you will never have to worry about again. they can build to 750 hp...

I would be concerned more about torque in a heavy vehicle.

The 6.0 is not a torque monster, but the heavy hussy just doesn't move like a spring chicken and the 6.0 does like to move things. On the other hand it takes more power to move a 4l80.

I would go 4l80. And I will when the time comes.

Does the tcase mate up to a 4l80?

Transfer case should mate up to the 4l80, but it does rob more power than the 4l65, and IIRC the gear ratios between the 2 is also different.
If that's the case you may have to have someone do a "segment" swap with HP tuners where they change the TCM from the 4L65 segment to the 4L85 one.

If it were me I would just rebuild the 4L65 and use better clutch packs like the red altos.
