To trade or not to trade...that is the question?????

I posted this in the H3 forum as well, but thought I would like feedback from the H2 crowd as well:

Ok, here it is:
I know of a 2005 H2 Lux with air suspension. It has 7000 original miles. Mint condition.
This person is willing to trade my H3 for his H2. Now I know my H3 Alpha is not going to hold it's value once the NADA comes out with their prices.
The H2 books for $40K.

I really like the H2...only it has the light interior--which isn't all that bad! Should

I take the trade and run away happy?

Any known problems with the 05' models? Also, the warranty is out for the bumper to bumper. It only had 3/36. Does it still have a powertrain warranty???? If it does, what does it come with???

TIA!

I'll give you my .02 cents...

I traded my 06 H3 lux/adv (21k miles) for my 05 h2 sut with 40k miles. Even jumping back 1 model year and doubling the miles, I would do it again in a heartbeat!

I average about 10.5 mpg (mostly city driving) (I averaged about 13 in the h3) So gassing this sucker up is a little more...

The entire Truck/SUV market is falling to pieces and neither truck will be "worth" what they should be worth this summer...

What you have to think about is warranty, what you have now and what you will have if you trade.

Here is what the factory warranty is on this model year: (I bought a GMPP extended warranty at dealership. You might be able to buy one from your local dealership. They will probably require a vehicle inspection though.)

Bumper to Bumper- 36/36,000
Powertrain- 36/36,000
Corrosion Perforation- 72/100,000
Roadside Assistance- 36/36,000

Bottom line, I should have bought the H2 instead of my H3 then trading after a year. (Lost about $6K!!) So yes, I am very happy! :)

You will love how the H2 rides and drives.

thanks jdrew...I checked with one hummer dealer.....they said the H2 would still have to be in warranty to add an extended one. This truck was first bought on 5/9/04 so that kills the warranty...That's the only thing that scares me!

The only warranty work done on the H2 was the ride control module for the air ride suspension. I guess it was an update.

Any other opinions??? Or anything I need to worry about on a 05 model?

Solar I still think you should look around at any local dealers you may have and see if they have any 07s still on the lot. Some of the dealers do around here and they are offering 14K off of list and will do better to move one, if you are really interested in an H2. That way you would get full warranty, new car financing terms and0 miles.

I have one Hummer dealer in this state and they don't have anything. A few other dealers have used H2's that have been run through the mill, besides they really don't understand what a Hummer is.....[:@]
