Question Tire Opinions

Hi Folks--just ordered a set of BFG A/T KOs for my H3T. I didn't get the adventure package so my stock tires were the BFG Rugged Trail (265s). I went up to the 285s but here's my opinion question:

Should I have them mounted with the white lettering on the outside or keep the black wall out?

Also, if you're snow-bound like me (Canadian) here's an interesting note: the 'E' rated BFGs are not RAC heavy snow certified--you have to go to a 'D' rated tire. Most of the tire dealers I went to didn't realize this and even BFG customer support was surprised and had to dig deeper. Apparently it has to do with rubber compound and tread depth--only 2/32 deeper for the Ds but I guess it makes a difference certification-wise).

Black out, the E and D rating is the load rating of the tire not tread depth.
Example: your LT truck tires have a higher load rating per tire than a passenger type tire. Basically it means your side walls are thicker with the higher load rating so they do not flex in cornering like a passenger tire or a lower ratied truck tire. .

Obviously no wrong or right. I prefer the white out, but I am in the minority. Not KM2's, but here is a video that show the white out on an H3 --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfJEmpi8mYg
