Three bucket seats in a H1
Hi my name is Allen I'm new to the sight . I'm in the process of getting a h1 hummer . I have 3 kids and a wife and would like for everyone to be able to go on trips comfortably . I was wondering if anyone has taken out the hump between the two rear bucket seats and put in a third . If it's even possible . I'm currently looking in Houston Texas for one to check out to see what I can do to add a third seat without using a bench seat in the rear . Any help would be appreciated . Thanks
I guess my question should be is there anything under the floor like a driveshaft or crossmember. If anyone has pictures underneath where I was talking about it would love to see them . The pictures I'm looking for are three floor between the rear passenger seats and underneath.
I do have younger children right now but as you know they get bigger I've seen the the bench seat facing the rear and facing forward. I saw some pictures but can't tell if the driveshaft and exhaust pipe are close or not . Thanks for the advice.
The entire powertrain is in the big hump you would wishfully would like to do away with. Hummers are designed for four people, medium sized people(all my real fat friends dont fit so well). The center 5th seat is only ok for small kids or midgets. If your a family of five you got the wrong vehicle for a trip. The reason hummers have so much ground clearance is everything is shoved up in between the frame- Fuel tanks(2), Engine, transmission,t case, differentials and brakes. Theres no moving the hump!!!
Im in austin if you need any help with shoping a truck. I would suggest to you and any new hummer owner to get a pre-sale inspection done before the purchased by someone who knows the product. I have a customer that just got a nice truck for about 18 and put 40 (About 12 of that was paint and lights) into repairs so he can reliably drive it.

I'm planning on buying one in less than 2 years so I'm saving and doing a lot of research but I will take any pointers I can get from someone who knows what to look for . I'm an above average mechanic and almost a tool and die maker all I have to do is take the state equivalent test and about 5 more years experience that is required. I can also do custom suspension and fabrication . The only thing I haven't done to a car is paint . When I get ready to buy I'm willing to travel from coast to coast to get the best one for the money . Thanks for your help.
Thanks for the help. My next question is there are a few different options withe the H1 like alpha and some say base model . Is there a thread somewhere the describes all of them . What is the common problemsense with the h1 that I need to look out for . Thanks again .
