I'm thinking about an H1 vs a FJ for this enter and more importantly next spring and summers outdoor adventures. The problem I'm having is I can't find a place to go to get some general information about the H1. I grew to love these vehicles while serving in the military and after. I have also owned the FJ and enjoy that rig as well. The problem is I don't know much about the civilian version of the H1. I need to find out acceptable price ranges for various years, potential gremlins of specific years and anything else a rookie H1 purchaser should know. Is there a one stop shop sort of place to find this info? Can anybody help me out? Thanks for the time.

I have both an FJ and an H1.
Offroad, they're both very capable. Most people don't realize how well the FJ can perform on the trail. Obviously, the H1's natural habitat is not the public highway, but honestly, I don't mind. This is purely personal preference. I love driving the H1 on the road, even though it's rough around the edges. Best thing is to drive one and experience for yourself. It's not for everyone. Even the civilian version is basically a Humvee.
If you look at Lynch Hummer, they have a buying guide with year-to-year changes, which is really helpful. Maybe look at that.
