tested PCM4less against JET
not an xpert but it seems that if one causes it to drop out of od at 67 and the other don't are we getting something 4 nuttin. engine loading causes it to drop, right?.if it does not drop out is something else changing?. like throttle position, mileage?
if the chip fools the pcm to think loading is ok but it actually is at the point of drop out something must change, no free lunch.
just how does any tuner make more power,?, at what price?
im guessing you pay at the pump for a stronger feeling throttle response, its probably cheaper to just push a little harder!

Are you making the assumption that because your AT did not stay in full lock up (faux overdrive) that equates with the PCM tune making less additional power than the Jet module, because with the Jet module did stay locked up?
You know what assumptions are worth.
There is a reason for that, and it has nothing to do with performance output.

OK, then your first post makes even less sense, but I will admit I do not understand what your are trying to describe as your observation.
Sorry.

Sorry.
the first post was simply a side by side test between Jet chip And PCM tune,? , the jet runs much better, PCM4less just altered some additional settings and will be shipping back for another try, we will see if it runs as well as the jet performance, If not back it goes for stock settings and i will stay with jet, they have been good to work with,
I am stock intake and exhaust. Automatic. PCM changed my shift points too. Also no top speed governor. Delco iridium plugs, optimized for 87 octane.
Turned off passkey ignition kill.
Very happy with program

Thanks Mike, I guess thats where the disconnect is, My Headers, full exhaust and intake are likely requiring a different mapping program than stock.
maybe you should look into what you are doing with the vehicle and then decide how to best get what you want out of it. I run one of the heaviest wheel and tire combo on mine, and the only place I have any issues with it, is on mountainous highways.
The bottom line is PCM4less uses a generic tune for mail orders, it dosnt take account for the headers of different lengths .full exhaust cat Forward system which they acknowledge. my tune will require different specs than the mail order stock motor, they have never had my exact vehicle on a dyno and its best guess. they are altering my tune for another attempt. I run 35 Procomps /fuel wheels which are very heavy as well, ,All the options on the sheet for PCM tune are just eyewash , no they dont have a tune for different length headers/ high flow cat ect. as they would want you to believe, Vehicle surges with the tune and they are re- mapping the fuel at this time to try to address it,we shall see next week if it runs better than the jet chip which does not surge under acceleration.
