I have a 2006 H3 with a little over 130k miles on it. I've replaced several different sensors recently (probably not relevant other than that I suspect a wiring issue that causes sensors to go bad). This past weekend, I got a different warning than one I've seen - SVC 4WD. It does it upon starting, and if I push the button to clear the warning, it doesn't come back until the next time I start it up. Additionally, the warning light (differential light? See pic below) flashes for the first 10 seconds or so, and then goes away and doesn't come back until I start again. I read a few suggestions that said my 4wd hi/lo buttons might be stuck partially in, but I've turned those on and off and restarted, and that doesn't seem to be the problem. I know suggestions are going to say to take it to the dealer, and I will, but we're going camping in two days, and I'm hoping everyone tells me this isn't a big deal issue and it can wait until I get back...

 

Put it in "N", then switch between the 4HI-4Hi LOCK-4LO LOCK several times (3-4 times for each). Listen for the click of the encoder motor switchign between selections. Heck even engage the rear locker to make sure it is working. Then turn it off (in 4HI) and see if you get the same lights.
