Greeting,

The power sunroof on my 2007 H3 has stopped working (fortunately in the closed position). The problem started with an intermittent loss of functionality; usually once or twice a week, but would work after retrying a few days later. In the last month, it has stopped working all together.

I took it to the dealership and was told I would need a new switch and $150 to fix it (that information alone cost me $50). I figured a switch would be easy enough to fix and decided to do it myself. The replacement switch was about $10, but unfortunately didn’t solve the problem.

I don’t hear any moaning from the motor, so I’m thinking it’s not stuck, but just not getting power to it. I checked both fuses (9 and 57). I have not replaced the Retained Accessory Power (#88) as the radio, front wipers, power windows are working properly.

So at this point, I’m stuck. Would be greatly appreciated if someone could give me a little help here as to what is preventing it from working and how to fix it.

Update:

This past weekend, I replaced the alternator in hopes of eliminating a squealing noise (I thought it was a bad pulley). While the noise is still there. the sunroof worked immediately after the install was done. Don't know if the the solution was the alternator replacement or just disconnecting the battery.

unhook batt must reset the "sunroof computer'!! will it ever end?
i think a standard accs would be a heavy sw that opens the batt cable and shorts them
for a complete reset.
