Steering/ Suspension Issue
I recently (2 weeks ago) had 2 new control arms, left lower ball joint, and new front shocks (bilstein 5100's) installed at my mechanic. Alignment was done after everything.
A week later, I noticed that when I brake at medium/ high speeds, or when I hit a bump at the same speeds (or pothole), the steering wheel jerks right and goes out of alignment. It ends up at 1 o'clock and stays there, until the next time I hit a bump or brake and then it will reset to normal. It can be a little scary because it feels like I don't have control, especially when braking. It feels like something is loose underneath the driver's side, but I had all the suspension checked and everything was confirmed to be tight (including tie rods).
I brought it into another mechanic and he took apart the front brakes and said everything was fine---lots of meat on the pads and rotors, nothing seized. He lubed everything up with the brakes, but it didn't make a difference. He thought maybe it could be defective shocks?
I'm bringing it back to the original mechanic tomorrow but would like to have an idea of what this could possibly be?

Check to see if any of the alignment cam guide pins are missing or broken off. Upper control arm cams can be tight but shift around in the frame slot when you hit a bump and then shift back when you hit another one. This happened to ours in Moab.
problem solved...I took it back to the mechanic who did all the front end work, and they found that the bolt for the upper control arm (left) was missing a lock washer, which allowed the bolt and the arm to travel slightly. They installed the washer, re secured it, re tightened everything and re aligned the vehicle. drives fine now.
