Start up issue
Hi,
I had a start up issue with my H3 this morning. The car started up normal like always and drove to work(only about 4 miles)and parked in parking lot for 2hrs. Then I tried to start it up to go out for lunch but it didn't start. The radio/lights and alarm was working normal so I tried to do jump start but unfortunately I didn't have any tool to take off the Tsunami battery terminal from the battery. I decided to get a ride from my buddy and grab a tool from home after lunch. After I got back to work and gave it one last try and the car started like normal. I doubt there could be any problem with my battery since I drove only 4miles after the normal start up and parked without any lights on for 2hours. The only thing kinda abnormal was I didn't hear any tic sound(like tic-tic-tic)when the car was forced to start up with drained battery. It was just silent. I have a K&N intake(KN63),Jet Performance Chip and Magnaflow exhaust installed on my 08 H3(5cyl) automatic. The battery is still fresh. I had it replaced about 4 months ago. Anyone had a similar issue like this? Any comment will be greatly appreciated.

the first thing to do if the car won't crank
inspect battery terminal if they are lose then tighten them and u are good to go
but if it cranks but wont star the engine
open fuel line under the driver side near the tank and crank or open the switch see if it through fuel for 2-3 seconds if its ok then your fuel pump is good if u have pressure gauge check to see at least 4 bar if no fuel the problem must be fuel pump
may be your nozzle are not clean any more?use a Fuel Injector Cleaner
open the throttle body easy just 4 bolts use a cleaner and remove any oil there these are easy ones hope it helps

Thanks for the tip Alex. I didn't hear any crank at all. I searched the thread and found a couple regarding pass lock system problem. Mine started again after a while(30mins of lunch break)so it sounds like the same problem that other people in this forum have. I will call up Hummer service and get the ignition unit replaced soon and see how it goes. Again, thanks for your help!!!
tuff definitely check those terminals. There was a run of tsunamis that had issues with the set screws if memory serves correct. If there is any play in the terminal, wiggle side to side or can lift off, than tighten it down. What type of battery is it btw?
