Thanks for all of your opinions!! Perhaps the EPA guides on the window sticker were reversed.Oh well, it's still better than the Expedition I traded in for the HUMMER & a whole lot more fun to drive!!

ORIGINAL: Doc Olds

IMHO the optimal efficiency speed seems to be somewhere between 50 and 60 mph. Once you just run along faster say 70-75 mphw/ the cruise set, your mileage goes down. I'm getting around 16.5+ mpg combined as well?? Never tried tofigured out strictlyhwy speed mpgs.
Incidentally, the highest speed the EPA uses to establish the "Highway" rating is 60 MPH.

First all highway trip with mine was in July. 75 mph, A/C on full and got 17.5 mpg. Since then I added a K&N and 5W30 full synthetic. I'm getting about 16 mpg on the highway. My city went from 13.5 when I first got it to about 11-12 mpg. I only have 2600 miles on it, so I'm hopeing it will get betterin a few years.

With 6000 miles my H3 Alpha is getting about 15 mpg. 13.5 - 14 in town and 16 to 16+ on the hwy.
