Default Splain me this Lucy!!

Before I get beat up, I did search for a logical answer and could not find one!!

Why is it I get 17+ MPG combined in-town/highway milage, but when I get on the interstate I maybe get14.5 MPG's at best?? I have an 07' 5-speed W/11,500 miles on the odometer & rarely drive over 75.

Lack of bling, definitely. Bling helps in the aerodyanmics, would get you better highway mpg. I get 14.5 mixed, maybe up to 16 on highway. [/align]

Please tell me that you take a different route both directions because you've got me confused with the downhill both ways. I don't think that I've had THAT much to [sm=alcoholic.gif].

I put on another post:

1. Never broke 3,000 RPM's
2. Never went over 65 MPH
3. 80/20 HWY/CITY
4. Stock Tires (265's)
5. Front is leveled
6. Airaid Quick Connect Air Filter and TBS

Got roughly 13.7-14 MPG.

Couldn't tell you, I get the same or better if I just drive the dang thing.

I just checked and am getting 16 in town. Why would leveling make a difference?

I think it has to do with wind.... in town/highway thereare more things to block the wind... on the interstate you are driving a great big brick against heavier winds...

IMHO the optimal efficiency speed seems to be somewhere between 50 and 60 mph. Once you just run along faster say 70-75 mphw/ the cruise set, your mileage goes down. I'm getting around 16.5+ mpg combined as well?? Never tried tofigured out strictlyhwy speed mpgs.
