Default Spare tire bike rack question

I want to buy a bike rack, but I have a 35" tire as my spare. I will need a hitch extender and a hitch bike rack. It seems most hitch bike racks don't work with a 35" spare tire.

The hitch bike rack and the extender will work but it costs $50 more than using this:

Would the spare tire bike rack solution above work? or is that too much weight on the door?

Your thoughts please...

Thank you!

Thule.
Mounts to your rear tire carrier, holds two bikes and folds down when not in use. And yes it will fit on your tire with no problem.

I don't usually dig up old threads, but in a search, this one is exactly what I'm looking for. I need to know if you (devenomized) bought a Thule and if it worked for your 35" spare. I don't have a hitch receiver and I don't really want to buy one just for a bike rack. The link in the first post goes to a very promising looking bike rack that mounts to the spare tire mount itself, but that's an awful small tire he has to deal with and the site doesn't give any indication if the rack with work with over sized tires.

Again, I apologize for digging up an old thread, but I have the same need and this thread kinda leaves you hanging.

My advice is that if you use a bike carrier alot don't buy a cheap one. I did alot of research and took several back. Most won't fold down far enough for your rear door to clear. After several tries I broke down and bought the Thule 964 Razor. It folds and swings out so you have full access to the rear door (even with bikes attached). It's kinda pricey. I figured I wouldn't have to buy another one ever again as it can be used on other vehicles.
