Default sitting h2

Bellow everyone, new here but have had my h2 for awhile. So I recently picked up my h2 from storage, it had been sitting for about 2 1/2 years. I had it towed home so what all should I do before I even try to start it. So far I know I will need to flush the radiator, buy new battery, and change the oils. How about the plugs, wires etc? Any tips are appreciated thanks.

What year?
Mileage?
What kind of wear (off road, on road, etc)?

Fluids, battery & oils are never a bad idea.

Instead of listing a 1000 things, there was a thread about the 100k mile maintenance for our vehicles.

Link

That should cover most things.

Definately have a good look at the brakes. Pull the wheels off and check the rotors. If it has been sitting that long they may have to be changed out due to scaling and pitting.

Dissassemble caliper a and clean and lube sliders.
Check flex lines for cracking, leaking. Of

When you decide to start the motor. If the motor has been sitting for a long period and you didn't fog or pour oil down the spark plug holes. Then there will be rust in the cylinders. When you start it let it idle for 20- 30 min. Do NOT rev the motor as the rust in the cylinders can damage your piston rings. Give it time to clean and line the cylinder walls.

Lube all your steering and suspension components wherever there is zerk fittings and check for rotted bushings and seals.

Check tires for cracking and especially valve stems rot.

Hope this helps.

I would pull the plugs and squirt a little oil down the bores before you crank it. Might as well put new plugs in it. I would add some techron to the fuel tank and after you drain the old fuel and add fresh fuel.
