Default ?'s about trailer brake set up

I have a 06 H3 with factory tow package, I recently purchased a dual axl trailer with electronic brakes. What do I need to make them work?
The truck has the big round plug on it, am I all set with that, or do I need a controller?

Thanks in advanced,
Marty

You will need a brake controller, and some basic wiring.

Is your trailer set up to have the electric brakes assist when the tail lights come on or do they require a separate controller. How many pins does the trailer plug have and is there a corresponding wire for each pin?

I tow a 6x12 single axle without brakes, but out Bus tows a double axle with brakes so I have a little knowledge on the subject. Not a ton!

Has the 7 pin round connector, and it does require a controller, I have a friend that works for a parts store (NAPA) he said that there an adapter that connects the controller to the harnes under the dash, does that sound correct????

Under the dash, in the drivers foot-well, on the accelerator pedal side you will find 4 wires taped together. These 4 wires are used to connect the pigtail of a brake controller into the towing circuit.
