Road trip
Planning a road trip next summer. Going to drive the 3 from here in north Carolina, go to Iowa to visit family then maybe niagra falls, want to go to California coast. On the way back maybe hit up Vegas one night. Trying to get some feedback of some places to stop from you guys. Maybe mt.rushmoore and stuff like that. I don't care for stuff like old hotels or anything. More scenic areas like ol' faithful. Going to be about a 2 week trip. What should I expect to spend on gas? Anything you guys could suggest would be greatly appreciated.
Niagra Falls is quite a hall back east from Iowa. Zion national park and Bryce Canyon are must see places near Vegas. Yosemite to San Fran then Highway 1 north as far as you want is incredible. The Oregon coast is all state land so its open to the public the whole length. Crater Lake and kalamath falls as well as the redwoods are all along that drive for the most part.
From my travels, the middle section of the country is fairly boring west of the mississippi. Better to stay way south or north for things of interest. Of course ther are a few exceptions.
