Default 2008 Hummer Forum Off-Road Trip/Trek

This year is already too late to organize something like this because of everybody's hectic schedule, but I would like to see how many people from the forum would be interested in putting together a trip somewhere to go off-roading, perhaps through the desert, preferrably MOAB or the Badlands, have a hotel we get a deal on, etc. You know where I'm going with this. I would like to do something like this. If I have the time, I'll organize it and take care of everything. I know it would be a lot of work and of course, there are going to be times that people may butt heads and have their own ways we should do things, but overall, I think it would be a great time and worth the effort. Maybe we can even organize it for later on this year.

Anyway, I want to get some feedback and talleys of how many people would want it when and how, so, select the choice that best suits your preferences, and we can work from there.

I'm going to, for now, exclude the winter months, since people from the norther part of the country may have a harder time making it down in case of a snow storm or other environmental issue.

Eventually once we figure out the details, and if it's feasable, we can start talking about where we want to go, how we want to do it, etc, wether it will be a road trip to multiple locations, one location, etc.

I may seem like a wild off-topic person, but I'm really good at organizing and planning trips. I'm very maticulous but not a control freak. Anyway, select which best suits you.

sound interesting. i've usually got one run each month, but with enough notice i could probably work it in if it was someplace relatively close.

It sounds like a great idea, but unless it's in the middle of the US what a haul for some. My local dealer has a few outtings a year. Living in Michigan we have the sand dunes along Lake Michigan that are open to vehicles and we also have the tank trails (National Guard) up in Grayling that we can use. Good Luck - Tom

Nahh, it's just a matter of how dedicated you are :-) I'd drive to Moab for a board outing in a heart beat. Sure, it's about 24 hours of driving to get there but some of these folks on here are actually worthmeeting up with .. well that and some back country/off road camping for a week ... :-) Ahh the thought of no cell phone service, nolaptop... *single tear* LOL!

i hate to burst your bubble, but we had service just about everywhere, and the campground had a wifi set up. there are very few places you can escape to without those things these days.

I figured the camp grounds would but I was talking about back country offroad camping ... pick a direction and drive so to speak ... I've done that a few times overseas but on snowmobiles and there's something to be said for being so far out of reach!
