Replacing Center Brake Lamp
Can anyone tell me the process of replacing the rear center brake lamp? This one has me a bit baffled to say the least...I'm guessing that the rear door interior panel needs to be removed in order to access the lamp. Any advice or solution would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Will
I don't know about replacing the lamp, but I do know about getting to it. I disconnected mine to rig rig rear spoiler light in place.
The back panel has plastic tabs jetting off into metal clips on the door. By simply pulling the panel off, you risk tearing those plastic tabs off.
I lost most of my tabs, but still managed to attain enough to have the panel stay in place when re-attaching.
There may be special tool that takes the eases the grip on the tabs when removing.

Thanks for responding Worknit. Since I've been fairly good at snapping off plastic tabs in my past. It might be best for me to go ahead and let the GM Service Technicians replace the lamp during my next scheduled maintenance. Thanks again for taking the time to offer advice.
