Hello,
Hopefully someone here can help me. I need a new alternator for my 2006 H3. Am unable to find the part nearby(south florida), it must be ordered and that takes about a week. Is it possible to use an alternator made for a different truck, like maybe a chevy suv?

Just have your's rebuilt! Every town has an alternator / Generator shop. I have had several rebuilt and never had an issue. They tear it down, replace the brushes, brgs, etc... and clean it up good and paint it back like new. Can't tell the difference between a new one and having mine rebuilt. Only charged me about 70-75 bucks. I can imagine what a new one is going to cost you....

 

a Bunch---went to dealer, not another place i called could get one. New alternator is installed and it was under the warranty.

 

id pick up 100amp alt at junk yard for 10 to 20 bucks, and they had regulators outside you could change ez
