To remove something like an emblem or something similar, I used a heat gun (or hair dryer) and use fishing line. Works perfect.

Now, to remove the adhesive once emblem is gone I use goo-gone. Safe on paint. I'm sure all the other products people listed here would be the same.

That sounds like the plan. Use one of the two fluids, take fishline to take off the part, and use more to take off the residual.

Thanks for the feedback. I keep forgetting about the fishline.

wd-40 stands for water displacementon the 40th try (think that has something to do with invention) , thats why it works like realjeep said

I guess any old penetrating oil would work but WD-40 is cheap, you can get it anywhere and it's basically harmless. I use it on myself and kids to get sticky messes off all the time. I could use one of a hundred different mineral oil based products with the same results. My favorite for loosening rusted parts is PB Blaster but the smell makes me want to hurl!
