I'm taking delivery of my H3 Mon or Tues that was ordered. The dealer is trying to add to the "invoice price $366.65 for something called "Dealer LAM" plus $1,099.95 for "Group LAM"

Are these legit charges I should pay?

 

Those charges (whatever they are..I never heard of them), should have been mentioned, listed and explained before you signed the purchase agreement..If they insist and make up some **** and bull story..walk away!!!

 

Here's the exact printout I rec'd from the dealer. . . .

I'm paying $34,435 - $750 rebate. . . the dealer explains those "LAM" fees are marketing fees GM charges the dealer.

No F'n way! On my invoice, the only wild card item was the registratin/title fee which should be between $60 -$100aprox. everything else was clearly documented when the truck was ordered (6wks ago) and my $500 deposit was taken. I'd tell this dealership to re-think those line items in a hurry or you should walk out of there.

 

Do yourself a favor and visit www.kbb.com and build your vehicle exactly as you ordered it. You'll see dealer net and retail pricing for your truck plus you can also check any promotions and rebates in your area. If you have any concerns, call a few dealers in your area and compare quotes to see if anyone will do better, it's the only way to tell if you're getting the best deal.

BTW, LAM refers to dealer marketing and local dealer markeing group charges. They're built into the dealer invoice for your truck.

A few weeks ago, after we test drove a pre-owned H2 at our local Hummer dealer, I asked the salesman what their asking price was on the one which we had just test driven. After speaking with his sales manager, he came back with a price of $40,000 (a pretty good deal I thought); however, he also advised us that the 'out the door' price would actually be $53,000...WTF? Needless to say, I didn't even have him try to explain to us what had accounted for the additional thirteen grand...since I had figured-in the usual 10% for tax, license, and registration. I may be a 'feller', but I ain't no Rockefeller!
