Same exact problem I had, I wished I would have measured mine for future reference for you guys, sorry about that. They should send you new sleeves, can't cost them much compared to having a bad rep.

I know what you mean. It's strange to hassle a customer who could potentially post a thread about the quality & drive more business to them. They don't just sell suspension parts for trucks/suvs, but performance cars too.

 

I just got off the phone with Spohn. Their answer to my problem is to ship out the bolt kit that they sell. This should be interesting to see how these work out. I believe they are 14mm & my bolts are about 14.5mm. In engineering terms, that's a world of difference.

I'll post pics after I get everything.

 

Hmm doesn't seem like the correct resolution of the problem. I'm torn between saying, at least they're working with you but the other half of me says they are not the correct bolts....

 

I agree. The guy on the phone seemed more interested in getting me off the phone than anything else. I will try them though. Other than time & some sanity, I have nothing to lose.

I think I'll end up getting sleeves from McMasterCarr & if I can source some original GM bolts or at least what the proper size is (14.5mm is strange & seems custom) somehow.

As usual, I'll post an update when I get the bolts. They shipped today, so I should get them early next week.


I measured the ID of the sleeves in the old trailing arms. I'm getting just under 15.25mm. I don't think Spohn has any clue. I find it interesting they didn't ask what size they should be. I most likely need 15mm sleeves or there about.
