How does this affect GM?? I know when I take my '07to a GM dealer... they say sorry... its a hummer. Hit the road!

I believe it was Paladine71 that did a thread on reinforcing the attach points but I'm not sure which forum it was on.

It was James. It's a great "fix"!

At Brodie's (theBroken) suggestion, I made a simple adjustment. I went to the garage and found two washers of equal diameter to the holders and drilled holes on either side of them:

It was then a simple matter to line up two screws and drill them through the factory holders. Making a very solid holder that will not easily pull loose.
