Default Puttering when trying to start

When I try to start my 2006 h3, it literally clicks for a few seconds as I hold the key. When I let go of the key it will then start. No check engine lights or anything and it runs fine once started. But just getting it started is the pain. I never had to jump it though, it just takes it's time and clicks. Any suggestions?

I would recommend starting by taking a look at the battery, starter, and alternator. Have you brought this to the attention of your local dealer?

Don't listen to "PEGGY"! She is here to heard people into GM dealers.

Your issue sounds like an ignition cylinder (key cylinder) going bad. They are easy to replace by removing the shroud around the steering column. If you need a "blow up" of the parts diagram I'm sure I can get one off of my service CD for ya.

That would be fantastic. I'm handy enough to fix it myself if I had some instructions! Thank you in advance.
