Default PCM Warrinty Question

I'm getting a new tuned PCM from PCMForLess. I had a question though. If I put that in does it void my warranty? I was debating on keeping my original PCM for times if and when I need to get any warranty work done. Has anyone ran into the dealer giving you issues b/c of this?

Thanks,

Jason

Keep in mind, this was told to me from my HUMMER dealership when I asked about altering my PCM, yours might not have the same policy (but I'm sure it applies to all GM dealers). The tech told me when they hook an H3 up to their diagnostic equipment, if it detects a re-flashed PCM, it shuts down and a popup window tells them to void the warranty. I've been going there for several years, they've been a great dealership and would have no reason to b.s. me. I really want a PCM for less, but I'm not willing to take the gamble.

Best thing to do is keep your OEM Stock PCM and TCM (depending on the year) and swap it out when you need service. Think of the extra $ spent as keeping your 5/100 warranty intact. My dealer doesn't care about programming (PCM4less/Superchips/Etc) as long as it is back to "stock" when you take it in for service.

Well mixed results from different dealers. I guarantee that if I call the delaer they would tell me that it voids the warrinty. But if they really care when push comes to shove, who knows. I think I am going to keep the stock PCM and just pop it in when I need to bring it to the dealer. I would hate to have to run into a problem. It would be cheaper just to spend the extra $150 to keep the original.

Default PCM3less for less- still have warranty

I took my H3 into GM dealer and had the head replaced all under the warranty. No questions asked about the PCM swap. I did notice that my gas mileage is now horrible. 15 mpg running 35s. Before they replaced the head I was getting around 20-23 mpg with the 35s. I wonder if they flashed part of my tune where I was had it set for low grade gas. I almost wish I could get the old head back with the way gas prices are.

Default MPG 08 H3 ILine5 cyl

I see someone stated they were getting 20mpg's, I just purchased my ride and I'm getting 13.2 mpg. Engine is stock and the tires are a little bigger than the stock tires. Can anyone give me the top 2 things I can do to increase my gas mileage? I currently put 87 octane and have tried higher octane but that made no difference.

Thx Austin Tx

Default gas

I did PCM for less flash... throttle response and acceleration is decent now... but gas mileage is still horrendous.

I have a 2010 I5 w/stock tires on and got 16.5 on average w/no mods. I added a GM Performance Exhaust and Volant CAI and am getting ~ 17 on average now but the weather is also warming up so that might be the cause of the increase. I have a new PCM from PCM For Less that I am going to install right now and I'll let you know if I get any MPG increase from that.

I'm happy w/my MPG so I added the CAI and exhaust for better engine performance, not MPG increase but it did seem to help a little bit.
