PCM question
Need some advice. My car recently died while driving. After 5 minutes I was able to restart it and get on my way again. Car drove fine but threw the p0601 PCM code.
I found some PCMs on eBay. The sellers claim they can program them to your vehicle as long as you send them your vin.
Will this work? Will this fix the case relearn and security issue? Any help is greatly appreciated. It's. 2006 h3 inline 5.

Thanks for the reply chris.
The only symptom i have had is when the.car shut down while driving. Reduced power, traction control disabled, etc. was displayed. I waited a few minutes and i was able to start the car back up. In that process it threw a code which was the p0601 code.
Would this not.be the pcm? With the code.pointing to that and.what ended.up happening, isnt that the pcm?
The car drives.fine.right now except the.cel light is.on. Im just afraid the same thing.is going to happpen and i wont be able to turn it back on.

When you ask for diagnostic help, please always indicate YEAR and MODEL. H3s come in different model versions (depending upon year) such as: Base, Adventure, Lux, Lux-Off Road, Alpha......... etc.
Different PCMs are used in different years, 08+ also have a TCM, and models have different BCM and TCCMs. Different versions of the "package of modules" have different known problems.
A PO601 can be nothing more than a simple brain fart that may never return, or it could be telling you part of its flash memory is corrupt. The bummer is, when the PCM freaks or fries, a series of defaults shuts you down.
If I was looking for a replacement PCM, I would consider buying one from PCMforless with a performance tune, or finding the correct one as cheap as possible and sending it to PCMforless to be tuned.
