Parking Brake lever snapped off - FML
So it's colder than usual and I was getting in my car to goto the office this morning and I pulled the parking brake lever and flew back into my seat with the lever in my hand.
It looks like a pretty clean break and the tip of the plastic from the part (cable?) still in the lever.
I have an '06 H3. Does anyone know what part(s) and their part # of what I need to order? Part 17 in diagram?
Thank you very much in advance-
Eric

I haven't seen a thread on the parking brake handle breaking in about 4 years! Thanks for not asking about tires The same thing happened to me years back when it was new. Apparently the square handle just presses onto a plastic deal on the cable. Give it a try pushing it back on. Just don't pull on it too hard next time. HTH.

@RSC
I ordered the cable. the plastic from the male end of the cable cracked off inside the lever.

It's funny, some people use the parking brake faithfully, some people hardly use it. Most people are in between.
Me, I have never used it in my H3. In fact I don't think I have ever used it in any of my automatic vehicles in over 40 years of driving. Now, the standard trans vehicles are a different story.

I use mine if I am parked on a steep hill. I apply it before taking it our of gear to prevent binding on the transmission. It is a good idea to use it occasionally just so it doesn't freeze up. In VA it has to work to pass state inspection.
